Aqaba's Diving Spots

Seven Sisters & The Tank Aqaba

Dive into History and Nature at Seven Sisters & The Tank – Aqaba’s Unique Underwater Site

One of Aqaba’s most captivating and photogenic dive site, Seven Sisters & The Tank offers a rare combination of natural coral formations and military history beneath the Red Sea. Located within the protected Aqaba Marine Park, this site is perfect for divers and snorkelers looking to explore vibrant reefs and an iconic sunken tank all in one dive.

With a maximum depth of only 6 meters and just 20 meters from shore. It’s easy of access makes it a fantastic site for dive training, novice divers and snorkelers. It’s also a great place for practicing the art of underwater photography. Located just a short distance from the C-130 Hercules. It’s a great ending to an easy dive and a lengthy safety stop. The largely intact structure makes it a visual treat, and attracts plenty of reef fish. Several moray eels have also made homes in the wreckage. If you diving first time in your life or you are experience diver – Seven Sister & The Tank Aqaba will find something to surprise you!

The Seven Sisters Coral Pinnacles

The “Seven Sisters” refers to a group of seven coral pinnacles teeming with marine life. After Seven sisters you can easily find Aqaba’s “Fairy ring” – coral formation at 5-8 meters depth. These shallow reef starts at just 5 meters and offer:

  • Brightly colored soft and hard corals

  • Tropical reef fish including clownfish, wrasses, shoals of fusiliers and butterflyfish

  • Macro life like nudibranchs and cleaner shrimp

  • Great conditions for snorkeling and underwater photography

The set of pinnacles is spread across a sandy bottom, making it an ideal site for training dives, relaxed exploration, and eco-diving. Perfect for novice divers!

The Famous Underwater Tank Duster M42

Just a short swim from the coral gardens lies one of Aqaba’s most iconic underwater landmarks — a sunken M42 Duster anti aircraft tank. Sunk intentionally as part of a reef enhancement project, the tank sits at around 6 meters and is now overgrown with coral and sponge life. With a time M42 Duster became an artificial reef.

  • Easily accessible and great for beginners

  • Popular photo spot for divers and snorkelers

  • Surrounded by curious reef fish and often visited by lionfish

This unique mix of marine biodiversity and submerged military relic makes it a must-see dive spot in the region. Ideal for safety stop or discover scuba dives in Aqaba! See the wreck in your Discover Scuba Diving Program!
