King Abdullah Reef

King Abdullah Reef was one of the prominent diving sites in Aqaba, Jordan. The King Abdullah Reef, also known as the “Cedar Pride II,” is a purposely sunken military tank and personnel carrier that serves as an artificial reef. It was named in honor of King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Divers often visit this site to explore the sunken military vehicles and the marine life that has made the reef its home. The site is known for its clear waters and the abundance of marine biodiversity, including various types of fish, coral formations, and other aquatic species.

The reef is a beautiful and diverse underwater ecosystem, with coral gardens, rocky outcrops, and dive-throughs. The reef features a wide variety of hard and soft corals, colorful fish, sea turtles, moray eels, and more. There is a  chance to see larger pelagic species.making it a prime spot for underwater photography.

Dives at King Abdullah Reef can vary in depth, making it suitable for divers of different experience levels. Depths typically range from approximately 5 meters (16 feet) to 30 meters (98 feet), with options for both shallow and deeper dives.

You’ll find something to enjoy at every depth here, from snorkelling on the surface to exploring the sloping sandy bottom, where the reef thins out around 23 m and more. This reef is vibrant, rich, and healthy with a huge variety of coverage and life of all shapes and sizes. With a pristine multi-coloured gorgonian forest, inhabited by large shoals of fish around.
