Aqaba's Diving Spots

Power Station Wall

One popular diving location in Aqaba, Jordan, is the Power Station Dive Site. It is often referred to as the Aqaba Power Station Wall. This dive site is well-known for its rich marine life and stunning underwater scenery. Divers can expect to encounter a variety of colorful coral reefs, including soft corals and gorgonians, as well as an array of fish species.

The Aqaba Power Station Wall is known for its relatively easy and shallow dives, making it suitable for divers of various skill levels. Additionally, the clear and warm waters of the Red Sea offer excellent visibility, creating an ideal environment for underwater exploration and photography.

Divers often have the opportunity to spot an array of marine life, such as various types of fish, including lionfish, nudibranchs, and moray eels. Occasionally, lucky divers might even encounter larger marine creatures, such as turtles and rays.

This diving spot named after the small oil fired power station on the coast road to the North of the dive site and this power station has been demolished.

If you are conducting a technical dive requiring decompression such as the Aqaba Blue Hole or Dorit’s Deep this makes the required stops a bonus rather than a chore. But if you’re after the colorful marine life, you don’t need to dive deeper than 30 meters, as the spectacular life found along the top edge of the wall.
