What Is Enriched Air Nitrox?

Enriched Air Nitrox is a breathing gas containing more oxygen than standard recreational air. The PADI Enriched Air Diver course teaches recreational divers how to use Nitrox safely and how to plan dives according to the oxygen percentage in their cylinder.

Nitrox is not simply a way to "dive deeper" or ignore decompression limits. The maximum operating depth of a Nitrox mix depends on its oxygen concentration and your planned exposure.
